I spun off my Web Development business in 2009 into techiniku LLC. Niku means meat in Japanese if you were wondering. I've been working on websites for a while so I've worked in PHP, Ruby and now Python programming languages.
I also figured out recently that I'm a creative person so yes I design sites too. I've been focusing on typography lately.
The people that choose to work with me are usually IT clients that have a developed trust in me. Go to techiniku.com to find out more about what kind of website work I do.
When my mom found out that I work on websites she sort of shunned me.“Why is she looking at me weird,” I remember thinking to myself. I couldn't figure out why until she mentioned someone we know who went to prison for child pornography. I couldn't believe that my mom would think that of me. You and my mother can check out a few sites that I've worked on.
This is Honolulu Christian Church's youth group website. I have to practically beg people to update it. Anyway I did a sketch mockup of it and my good friend Brendan Porick fleshed it out in Photoshop. This is vintage 2003 or so. Back then I had zero Photoshop skills. It's a dynamic site so ministry staffers can log in and update the calendar, blog, etc.
This website is for Karine France-Matsumoto's wedding & event planning business. I wanted to give her an elegant look and I think I succeeded in that. I implemented some advanced techiniques like sIFR to give it an aesthetic edge. It's a two-edged sword though because it makes the site trickier and more expensive to update. Vintage early 2009.
This site was made for Kawaiaha‘o Church School. KCS is a Montessori school that serves toddlers through fifth graders and have an emphasis on the Hawaiian language. Vintage mid 2010.
