Music Equipment Shopping

I like to shop for equipment locally. I like to try stuff out and hear how it sounds. If you live in Hawaii, buying from MusiciansFriend.com is expensive because of the shipping charges. Also, returning a product to an online retailer sucks. If you have to order online I recommend SameDayMusic.com because their shipping to Hawaii is fast and not over priced. I've ordered a lot of stuff from them over the years and I have no complaints but please support the local economy.

Oahu Guitar Shops

• Hot Licks Guitars: Lots of Fenders and Gibsons, nice guys
• Dan's Guitars: Good prices on expensive equipment, prs, gibson, few strats, bunch of used stuff
• Good Guys Music and Sound: Probably the best prices
• Easy Music Center: New location, more floorspace, good prices
• Coconut Grove Music: Never been there but my friend likes them
• Island Guitars: Big store, little expensive

Buying Used

Two good venues for buy used equipment are ebay and craigslist. I've met some very nice, interesting people and bought great equipment through craigslist. If you really want that equipment don't haggle and respond quickly. Heck, even offer to pay more than the asking price.
